Homework for the week of May 6th

Math	Complete attached math sheets:  “Measuring at Home”, and “Measuring Length”
Writing	Your child will need to write a story. It can be about anything, but it needs to have between 6 to 8 sentences and include 1st grade expectations of capitals, correct punctuation, and correct spelling. Then they will need to use the checklist to make sure they did everything and add details to their story.
Reading	Read your “Book in a Bag” to Mom or Dad. Parents complete the Parent Participation Sheet. Your child should continue to read their “Book in a Bag” several times throughout the week. They should be able to retell the story with little assistance from you. If they are struggling, have them read the book again and again.
Word Study- Vowel Teams	Read each riddle and use the words found at the bottom of the page to fill in the answer with the correct word that has a vowel team. (Vowel teams are words that have 2 vowels side by side and the first vowel is long, saying its name.)
